The Seasonal Succession of Butterflies at Mt. Koryong (Aengmu-Bong), Korea with special reference to food plants of the various species of larvae

Abstract
|
|
|
1. Butterflies were collected in Aengmu-bong for two years from April, 1971 to October, 1972. A total of 1,658 specimens, including 103 species, were collected.
2. The results of the colection are as follow:
Hesperidae 12 genera 13 species
Papilionidae 5 〃 9 〃
Pieridae 6 〃 10 〃
Lycaenidae 15 〃 18 〃
Libytheidae 1 〃 1 〃
Nymphalidae 18 〃 37 〃
Satyridae 11 〃 15 〃
Total 68 Genera 103 Species
3. The numbers of species and individuals collected each month are as follows:

4. The specific ratio of the Paleartic Region and the Oriental Region is 6.2 : 1, which shows the Paleartic ratio is higher in comparison to the all-Korea ratio^8) of 5.5 : 1.
